Taken inside the Hazen-Garrison House, Haverhill, Massachusetts; one of the five old houses Wallace Nutting owned and furnished with antiques for his picture business.

Wallace Nutting made a companion photograph titled, By The Great Horn Spoon" studio # 9217 which has the child and woman seated.

This kitchen, without the models is illustrated on pg 78 of Pathway of the Puritans, a book Wallace Nutting's 'Old America Company' published for the Massachusetts Bay Colony Tercentenary Commission in 1930.
