The Nutting Studio illustrated this picture on page 35 of the 1912 Picture Sales catalog and on page 485 of the 1915 Expansible catalog.
One source of information I have from the Nutting Studio indicates that this picture was made in California. The exact town or house is not recorded.
This photograph is one of several in a series made on this stairway with this woman and infant, at times replacing the infant with a child or posing the woman alone.
Other photographs in this series that I have been able to confirm are:
"A Colonial Stair" studio #2290
"Shy Before Guest" studio #2291
"Toward Slumberland" studio #2292
"To Slumberland" studio #2292 (Same picture as "Toward Slumberland").
"After The Party" studio #2295
"The Charm Of Other Years" studio #2295 (Same picture as "After The Party").
"What Shall I Answer" studio #2472
"To Meet The Rector" studio #2499
"Mother" studio #2513
Wallace Nutting also made two photographs in one of the bed chambers of this house. They are:
"Nap Time Stories" studio #2511
"A Patchwork Siesta" studio #2293
