The Nutting Studio illustrated this picture on page 30 of the 1912 Picture Sales catalog and on page 474 of the 1915 Expansible Sales catalog. It can also be found with the title, "The Charm Of Other Years".

One source of information I have from the Nutting Studio indicates that this picture was made in California. The exact town or house is not recorded.

This photograph is one of several in a series made on this stairway with this woman and child, at times replacing the child with an infant or posing the woman alone.
