This picture was taken in San Juan, Californiaq and was illustrated on page 69 of Wallace Nutting's 1912 Picture Sales catalog and on page 360 of his 1915 Expansible catalog.

The California Missions was a very popular stop for the camerist. Wallace Nutting made several other titles at this mission, as did Charles Sawyer, another popular 20th century New England photographer.
