This picture was made in Cheshire, Connecticut. Wallace Nutting illustrated this picture on page 808 of his 1915 Expansible catalog. He also illustrated it on page 16 of his book, 'Connecticut Beautiful' (first edition) and as the frontispiece opposite the title page in the second edition. The Nutting studio also made and sold a similar picture titled, "Lingering Water" studio # 668, which shows a different view of the narrow inlet.
