Wallace Nutiing illustrated this picture on page 76 of his 1912 Picture Sales Catalog and on page 406 of his 1915 Expansible Picture Catalog. In addition he illustrated this picture in his book, 'Connecticut Beautiful' on page 241 of the second edition, with the title "An Ancient Road".
He also made and sold similar pictures of this area. Those that I have been able to identify are: "Nuttinghame Blossoms" studio #85; "Summer Wind" studio #295; "The Old Homestead" studio #1130, (Illustrated in his book Connecticut Beautiful, second edition on page 70 with the title "Old Nuttinghame Homestead"); "Shore Lights" studio #2537, and "Along Shore" studio #2707.
Other scenes of this area that are illustrated in his book, Connecticut Beautiful are: "The Old Wallace Nutting Place" on page 141 of the second edition; "Overbrook" on page 139
of the first edition and on page 123 of the second edition; and, "Nuttinghame in Spring" on page 284 of the first edition.
