Wallace Nutting illustrated this picture on pg 31 of his 1912 Picture Sales catalog with the title "The Pictured Wall". In his 1915 Expansible Catalog it is illustrated on pg 489 with the title "Picture Paper. This particular unit has a label on the back of the mat that identifies it as having been made in Nutting's New York studio in 1904. The scene is a room inside the Paddock Mansion, St. Johnsbury, VT.
