This hand-colored photogaph is a scene from Enfield, Massachusetts. Wallace Nutting illustrated this picture on page 14 of the 1912 Picture Sales Catalog and on page 754 of the 1915 Expansible Picture Catalog. It is also illustrated on page 255 of Nutting's 1923 book, ‘Massachusetts Beautiful’ (page 211 of the second edition) with the modified title, ‘A Massachusetts Road in May.’

Wallace Nutting also made a portrait format photograph of the Elm tree on the right which he titled, "A Wayside Elm". It is illustrated on page 181 of Massachusetts Beautiful, second edition.
