This book is a memento of the Tercentenary of the founding of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. It was published in a limited number of five-thousand copies by Wallace Nutting's Old America Company in 1930. The supply was quickly exhausted and in 1931 a second printing was authorized. Several of Wallace Nutting's pictures are illustrated.

The first printing has the Wallace Nutting logo on the title page. The second printing has the seal of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the title page.

Some first and second printings can be found with the seal of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the cover. The reason is not clear but it is thought that these were VIP issues.
