The Nutting Art Studio sold hand-colored photographs in a 3" x 4" tin frame which would accomodate either a portrait or landscape format. The frames were available in a polished gold tone, a silver tone and a Bronze tone. Photographs mounted in a tin frame should have the signature directly on the bottom edge of the picture in pen and ink.

Some Tin frames were sold with a ribbon suspended from the frame supporting a calendar. When the year was past the ribbon and calendar pages would be removed and the tin frame with the signed photograph could be used as a wall ornament.
