These two photographs from the "Rosa" series were not made for commercial use but were given to the Model, Mildred Codding, by Wallace Nutting.
The "Rosa" photographs originated in 1911 when Wallace Nutting was invited by a mutual friend to photograph the Blackington children who lived in this house in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Wallace Nutting was impressed with the beauty of the roses surrounding the front porch and posed Mildred Codding, who was selected because of her dark hair, and Elizabeth Sturdy Blackington, the young child of the "Rosa" photographs who lived in this house.
